Privacy Policy

This page explains what is collected when you visit this site, and why. You don't need an account to read anything here, and the site has no sign-ups or forms, so I don't ask you for any personal information.

Google Analytics and Google AdSense only load if you accept cookies in the banner at the bottom of the page. If you decline, neither of them loads. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are popular and how people find them. This helps me decide what to write next. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as:

• the pages you view and how long you spend on them
• how you arrived at the site
• your browser, device type, and operating system
• your approximate location, such as your country or city

I see this as statistics about visitors, and I don't use it to try to identify you. Google processes this information under its own terms. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits with its opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

This site loads Google AdSense, Google's advertising service, and may show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or to other sites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on those visits.

You can turn off personalized ads in Google's My Ad Center, and opt out of personalized ads from many other vendors at aboutads.info.

Settings saved in your browser

If you switch between light and dark mode, or make a cookie choice, it is saved in your browser so the site remembers it. It stays on your device and isn't sent to me.

Your choices

You can change your cookie choice using Cookie settings in the footer, or block and delete cookies in your browser's settings. The site works either way. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights over your personal data, such as asking to see or delete it. Most of what is described here is held by the services above, so requests about that data are best made to them directly.

I don't sell your personal information. This site isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their personal information.

If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
